I have a broody Barred Rock hen that I broke of her broodiness about 4 weeks ago. Apparently it's a strong instinct for her and I don't have the energy to break her again.
If anyone has fertile eggs I will let her hatch them here and then you take the hen and the chicks back. I'm not interested in keeping the hen any longer, I just want her to have a good home. She is about 4 1/2 years old and still lays an egg 4 or 5 times a week. She has hatched eggs before and is a super momma hen.
I don't need any more chicks at this time (have 9 six week old chicks) or I'd give into her myself.
Serious inquiries only, like I said I want her to go to a good home. I'm on the upper cape in Massachusetts
