We have a broody hen, she was broody about 1-1 1/2 weeks before we got fertilized eggs to stick under her. On day 22 she kicked one of the 4 out of the nesting box (into an entire different box) but is staying patiently on the other 3. This Sunday will be 28 days since we got them but she’s showing no signs of wanting to move. This is our first time Hatching chicks and I’m at a loss. I tried candling them tonight (as recommended by others with more experience even though everything I read says you shouldn’t beyond day 17) but they just look dark (again first timer). Should I leave her? Should I remove them? I’m at a loss.

Buy her some chicks and give them to her. She will most likely accept them.

She has been sitting on those eggs for 28 days?
if it's chicken eggs then that's too long. you can break her broodiness if you need to. put her in a milk crate or other box where air can get to her on all sides.

X2 @aart has some great broody jail questions but at 28 days, those eggs aren’t hatching. For the health and safety of your hen she either needs to be broken or given chicks

I wouldn't. It's not healthy for the bird. They lose so much weight, I feel guilty after about day 14 for them because they feel like a bag of bones.

Now if they take a few weeks off, raise the brood and then start again, that's a bit different in my opinion
