Ok, so we have a hen that went broody. She has 12 eggs. We decided to move her to a smaller pen by herself. She isn’t happy about it. We moved her and the eggs all at once.. She jumped out while we were putting the eggs in we caught her and put her back in. Now she is dust bathing and eating grass out side of the new pen. Did I mess up or will she sit back on the eggs once she gets over the move.

She should get back on the eggs. She is probably just taking a break. Mine tend to come off the nest every other day to drink dust and poop. Sometimes every day. I would move when it's getting dark out . She would be more likely to stay on the nest while she gets use to her new pen. Going to move mine 2 days before hatch. Have two broody hens right now.

Thanks that makes me feel better. We moved her after we got home. A little bit ago. It is easier when the others are not in the coop. Right now we have a small one.. bought it from tractor supply, so they all crowd each other at night.

Ok so I am just paranoid I guess. She’s sitting on the eggs.. She is just around a year old and went broody yesterday or the day before. We noticed yesterday.. First thing me having a broody hen so I was worried for no reason. Thanks everyone.
