I have a broody hen that has been sitting for approximately 16-17 days. Last night we found a snake in her box. In the process of removing the snake her eggs were broken. 
Two eggs were developing and one was rotten. 
After cleaning her box I put some fresh eggs under her. She is sitting on them. My question is, will she start this process over and sit on these eggs for the full length of time? The broken eggs were only days away from hatching. Thank you for your input! We are relatively new to this.

I guess the best answer is , maybe. Some hens will eventually break; whereas, others will set seemingly forever. Setting can be debilitating especially in excessive heat. Perhaps buying some chicks to foster to her would be a better idea.
