I have two hens that hatched eggs over the past few days. I have another hen who's eggs are going to hatch in a bit over a week. Well... the hen that was still sitting on eggs has decided she wants to be a mom right now and left her eggs for a good portion of the day. Right now I have her back on her eggs but only because she is almost on top of one of the other hens so she can share the chicks.
I'm contemplating keeping all of them locked in the coop until the remaining eggs hatch. Has this happened to anyone else? She is/was sitting on 13 eggs and I would hate to see them not make it. Also, I can't afford an incubator.
