I have a blue silkie hen sitting on eggs. When I looked in on her yesterday, I noticed some broken eggs and I couldn't see her head. I moved her off the nest to the floor of the coop and she started flipping around and backing up and acts like she can't lift her head up. I've seen chicks with wry neck do this flippin backwards before but never a hen. What can I do for her? I put her in a wire cage to take the broodiness away and gave her some Polyvisol that I give to chicks...what else can I do?

Weakness builds in hens the longer they sit. You are doing the right thing. Break her broody cycle and get her eating/drinking. Vitamins are a good idea right now. Keep after her to drink though. You can also try some hard boiled eggs for extra protein to build up her strength.

Vitamin E oil worked with my silkie hen, 3 days syringing it into her beak and she got better. I read somewhere that silkie's can be prone to vit E deficiency which can cause wry neck. Hope your little hen is ok
