Hello,
My hen has hatched the eggs she was on. I can hear chirping and was able to see one live chick and possibly one that didn’t make it. It’s bottoms half body was half out of the shell. I also think there are a few unhatched. I didn’t want to bother Mama too much so I didn’t overly investigate.
The nest box they are up high and in my coop with my other chicks.
Do I quickly move her now with the chicks and eggs? I have everything set up in another coop.
It’s been pretty hot so I’m worried about keeping them hydrated, my other chickens hurting the chicks and the nest box height.
Thank you

When did the first chick hatch? If I were you I would investigate tonight to find out what the status is of those eggs. Did you mark them when she started sitting so they will all hatch at the same time? Or were they laid at different times? Because if it is the later that complicates things and chicks will die in the shell if she leaves them.

If the nest is up high the chicks can fall out and die of cold, or be killed by other flock members in the AM so blocking them off is a good idea.

I hope this new coop area is within site of her flock. If you separate them entirely the chicks and possibly hen will be picked on requiring integration which sort of defeats the purpose of using a broody hen. While penning her off with the chicks in a separate corner of the coop for a few days is common, you want her to be able to raise the chicks within the flock and run loose with the flock in a few days. My broodies bring the chicks into the main run with the rest of the adults within a week's time, the chicks are automatically flock members at hatch when they are with a broody but penning them off for a few days in a safe corner prevents mishaps.

Also if the eggs were laid at different times you should candle them tonight to see which ones are far along at which point decisions need to be made. Course even if they were all set at the same time candling is a good idea so you know which eggs should hatch and which are duds.

Update:
So this morning I checked and we have 2 chicks looking great, one egg pipped and one egg where the film is still half over the chick, but I hear chirping. Been roughly since 8pm last night.
Do I let this chick be? I’m thinking if I try to help it’s most certainly not going to survive. I will include a photo for you guys to see.
I candled the last 4 eggs. Once was a no go for sure and I’m thinking the 3 I’m including photos of are also not successful.
I was so prepared and currently feeling so unprepared!
Momma hen seems to be doing great! Tucks her eggs right under her when I give them back after candling and a very fierce mom (usually a very people friendly hen).
Please don’t mind her muddy feet. She went broody and I felt trying to give her a pedicure wasn’t the time.
The first and second photo show the egg I’m concerned about.

Just saw this. If the hen is friendly then bring her some food and handle those chicks! Soon they will be far too fast to hold at all. Broody raised chicks tend to be very wild otherwise.
