Hey All-
Our hen just got broody and I am worried that it will be getting too cold in the next 21 days we are in the mountains nights are dropping into the 50's already.... I want to sneak some fertilized eggs under her (she's on golf balls). Is it worth a shot?
Thanks!! Jesse

People have posted pictures of broodies taking care of chicks in the snow. It is obviously not the best time of year for them to raise chicks, but I think it is worth a try.

I snuck some underneath my broody 5 days ago.

As said above.

I've seen and even had broodies raise chicks successfully in the middle of winter. Much cheaper for you, too.
