broody hen left eggs

I posted on here yesterday about our broody hen We tried to move her last night. She would not go back on the nest. This morning I found the eggs cold. She is still near them but I know she has not been sitting on them. Did we move her to soon? How could we have prevented this. I know the 16 eggs are no longer viableWhat can we do different if it happens again.

Do you have a incubator? I would try to hatch them still. They may be late, but worth a try!
