I'm wondering if there's anything I can do. We had barnyard mix eggs given to our orpington. Two hatched yesterday and two more by this morning (day 21). Mama has now taken her 4 babies outside and left the two remaining eggs. There's no cracks or pips and I can't hear anything from them, but theres also no smell. Both eggs are dark brown and hard to candle, but I can see a shadow and an air sack. Just not sure what to do with them, I also do not have an incubator

That is quite soon after hatch for a mama to take her chicks out. I've had about a dozen broody hens hatch over the years and have never had one take her chicks outside before day 5 or 6. If you dont have an incubator you can try keeping the remaining eggs under a heat lamp surrounded by wet paper towels.

I stop candeling after mama hen abandons eggs, because I figure she knows something I don't and I'm too much of a sucker to leave things to nature.

This is her 2nd time with chicks, and she's always taken them out fairly quickly, I'd honestly never gave it much thought lol my last two broody took chicks out on the 2nd day too. We did discover that one egg had stopped developing very early on while the other chick just didn't seem to make it for whatever reason. But the 4 that made it are thriving 😊
