Broody hen lost chicks

I wasn't sure where to post this but I have a broody cochin who had two chicks for about a month and unfortunately last night, a raccoon got to both of them. I was wondering if there was anything I could do for her or what I should expect from her since this is the first batch she has ever lost.

Sorry for the circumstances. Make sure that she and the rest of your flock are protected. She will look for them for a bit, return to lay, set, and start another brood.

Sorry for the loss of chicks. Agree, make sure everyone else stays safe. She will be confused/upset for a bit but will eventually be just fine.

What I'd expect from the hen is that she will miss the chicks for a short while, likely two or three days. Then she will break from being broody and rejoin the flock. She will need to rebuiild some reserves in her body but will start laying again when she does. She will not have any long term effects.
