Broody hen not broody today, HELP

OK, we had a hen that had been broody for a couple of weeks so I ordered some maran eggs for her to set this weekend. Well, today she decided to stop being broody and I don't get the eggs until the weekend. Can I entice her back? I put a decoy eggs in her nest in hopes that she will come back. Is this possible? I don't have an incubator. HELP!!

You can certainly try to entice her back by putting decoy eggs in the nest, but that may or may not work. Unfortunately, chickens have a mind of their own! If it doesn't work, I suggest you call some of your local feed stores and track down an incubator if you want those eggs to hatch. You can purchase an LG still air for about $40, but then of course the automatic turner is an additional $40........... Good luck!!!

She hasn't been sitting on anything. Last year she was broody for 3 months before we finally gave her eggs to hatch. She goes broody in January or beginning of february and we are northern Canada so it is just too cold for chicks then. We are small town and I don't think we can get an incubator here that quick. Might have to cancel the egg order. Boo hoo. I just peeked in on them and she was checking out the nest and then off she went to eat. Here's hoping.
