I have had this broody hen for a while and tried to get some fertilized eggs close by but never did. It's been a few weeks and now we are taking her off the nest so she will snap out of it. But today when my daughter took her off and brought her out of the coop the other hens started picking at her! She is a feisty one so I'm surprised that she is getting picked at. They are grabbing at her neck feathers and all. Does this get better? We should have just started kicking her off in the beginning. I mean she has been in the coop this entire time. It's not as if she were somewhere else. They are laying eggs right next to her nesting box. What would you do?
