i have 2 cochins that are laying eggs, lay!!! but my really old RIR hen, who has never laid an egg since she wandered in to our property a couple years ago, has claimed all the eggs has HERS! i had to fight with her just to grab them today since i'm incubating them. has anyone else ever had a hen go broody without having eggs herself? she's made a nest and everything and wouldn't get off them...
