This is my first attempt with a broody hen. I've gotten a couple eggs from a friend and would like for my broody to try.

My hen who is determined to be broody, as of right now she is attempting to hatch a plastic Easter egg. She seems to move nesting boxes every once in awhile. I'm not sure if the others are aggravating her or if she just gets tempted by the clutch of eggs in the next box over. I need to move her into a different space so the others will leave her alone. She is brooding in a milk crate so it shouldn't be much trouble to move her. Do people normally fix up just that nest box so others can't get to her or take her out completely?

I have a chicken tractor that currently has 3 chicks who are 4-6 weeks old and a runner duck about the same age. Would it hurt if I attempt to move her into the tractor with these guys? There should be ample room for all. Will she get mean towards them? Also is there a certain lighting that broodies seem to prefer?

I have a dog crate I've given thought too, just not sure where I would put it? I'm sure I could make room somewhere I just hate the thought of having another brooder box to keep watch over. I've got ducks in a brooder in the house, the chicken tractor, and the coop I'm doing a daily run on right now. Normally this wouldn't be a biggie but with a 5 month old either I'm doing this all one handed with a 15pd weight on one hip or during naps!

I'm hoping to some of you with much more experience can lead me in the right way.
