Im so glad I checked....my broody hen who has been sitting for just over a week returned to the wrong nest tonight. I found her on the nest of eggs another hen is contributing to but not sitting on yet. I had a heck of a time getting her to switch over to her nest of eggs in the box next door. Has anyone ever had this happen before. Any advice on how to prevent it from happening in the future. I would have hated to discover her on the wrong nest of eggs tomorrow morning. Im pretty sure her eggs would have been destroyed having been too cold for too long. I just so glad I caught it this time and Ill keep a close eye on her. I sure would appreciate some help with this if anyone has any ideas.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions and contributions to this thread. Does anyone know if say 12 hours of coolness would have killed the eggs? I sure seems like it would.

I don't have an answer, so I'll just bump it up for you.

We had the same problem, so quickly knocked up a broody coop ( Just big enough for 1 hen) and made a small run within the run for her so she had no option but to use her nest. Kept her confined for a few days and now she goes back ok so run has been taken away.
