Hi
I have a flock of BO, SLW, GLW and two banty cochins. My question is that the banties get broody and last for quite a long time. Is there any little trick or advice to help them want to return to the "normal" everyday routine of running around the yard? Any input would be nice, as I have to pick them up and block them from the coop so they eat and drink and they loose a bit of weight. As a mother hen I'm getting worried as the weeks go by
Thank You Bird Lady

Looking at the breeds or your flock, I am surprised they aren't all broody! Do you not want them to have chicks? if not you could just lock them out the coop all day to get air to their bellys. They usually get up once a day to eat/drink but some don't and that's why people have to move them off the nest. Its normal for them to loose a lot of weight when being broody because even when they do eat, they don't eat a lot. Also if you want to try prevent them from going broody, try collecting the eggs as a regularly as you can.
