Broody Hen

Can anyone tell me at about what age hens go broody? Thanks

All I can say is that one of my hens that went broody and hatched out eggs, is a year old next month. She was a great dedicated broody and now is a wonderful mother.


Edited to add: I would guess that every hen would be different.

My Serama that is broody right now is about 5.5 months old. My Silkie that is trying to be broody is a month older.
