I helped a neighbor with her broody hen tonight.
She was sitting on 17 eggs!! The eggs are absolutely not fertilized but she wants to know if she can still eat them??
Going over to check on the hen tomorrow. We got her out of her "nest" and up in to the hen house (it's only 1 chicken, she has no flock) and closed her in for the night after letting her roam around for a while. She didn't try to go back to her nest while roaming.
I don't know alot about chickens & my neighbor knows even less so we were quite the pair getting this chicken to move off her eggs.
We were startled that the chicken GROWLED!! LOL... we about peed our pants!!
