Broody Hen!!

If you have access to fertile eggs you can let her raise a brood.

If not and you want her to start laying again sooner than later, break her of the habit immediately.
Get or build a broody jail, which is a cage with a wire bottom you can elevate off the ground so cool air can get to her underside. Put some food and water in the cage. If you catch her early it may only take a couple days to break her.

Put her in the broody jail this morning, wait and see how it goes....thank you again...

I occasionally let setters raise a brood now but when I was young we had 100 leghorns for egg sales and we had several cages hanging from the ceiling of the henhouse. It seemed like one or two were always occupied.

My BO is over her broodiness, it only took 2 days spent in "broody Jail", everything back to normal, thanks again. Glad I had somewhere to turn to for my questions. Enjoy your chickens everyone.
