That’s a good point. And I don’t need to keep a rooster, technically I’m not even supposed to with current zoning but my neighbors don’t mind him, but I like the idea of having one. This is certainly making me rethink that idea, and if it’s really worth it to have him around.Eh..... in my book he has already lost the right to stay in the flock.

Brilliant ideaYesterday I’d called the small zoo in our town and arranged a time to donate the cockerel. (They humanely dispatch the donations before feeding them to the carnivores.) He must have known, because he bit my daughter on the hand later that day. Fortunately it just made her cry and didn’t make her bleed, but that just confirmed to me that my decision was the right one.
