I put 12 eggs under a broody hen and there are only 11 left. I searched the entire box, litter and all, and there is no trace of the egg. The box is in my chick brooder in my basement and there is no possible way that anything could have gotten in to get an egg. Will a broody hen sometimes eat an egg she is sitting on? It disappeared at least 5 or 6 days ago. This chicken has never been an egg eater. This is driving me nuts!!! What could have happened to it?
