Broody Momma is almost done

have BO that is on day 18 for setting. I'm looking for a good thread to tell me what to do or what to expect.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I can't seem to find one.

Check the batteries on your camera. Six times a day. Figure out where you are going to put chick starter dish and water that chicks and mom can get to but not the rest of your flock so they don't have to compete. Other than that all you can do is stay out of the way and enjoy.

Mom will keep them warm and do the work.

"Check the batteries" is that like telling me to go boil water

We got a small dog pen off craigs list. I'm going to move her tonight since the box she is in now is too high off the ground. I have a dog carrier and I'll use that for a nest box for her. But the cover on the pen is mesh. Do you think that is O.K. since the carrier will keep any rain out??? Also, I have not even candled the eggs. Should I bother now?
