One of my muscovies has gone broody. She was making her nest this morning. I don't really want to hatch out any more babies right now because 19 ducks just hatched this morning. So the question is can i give her the babies? Will she take them? I had a broody chicken take a single chick the other week but she had been sitting for a while and her eggs were hatching. She has one of her own and one i gave her. Will ducks do that to? How long should i let her sit before i try to give them to her? TIA!!

I don't think she'll take them if she has just gone broody, they are not like a chicken when it comes to this, I'd let her sit at least a week or more then try but it still may not work it is just something you'll have to try.

Ok thank you. I will see if she stays and try in a week. I don't mind brooding the ducklings myself but I want her to have duckling and don't want too many more. Lol I guess I might let her brood.
