They were not used to seeing other chickens. They had imprinted on me. That sound better.

Oh I see. Yours had already hatched! You had me worried there. My Little Hen is sitting on 9 foreign eggs I got from a friend. I imagined them all hatching and taking one look at Little Hen and running for the hills!
