I have a pullet that recently started laying. About a day earlier she disappeared and came back at night! The next day she hung around until noon, and repeated yesterday. I soon found that she was going into the old pheasnt coops and probably had a nest. I was wondering if this counted as broodyness since she dissapeares for so long! Thanks!

If she's leaving the nest to go roost with the flock at night, she's not broody. It's not uncommon for a pullet to spend several hours on a nest. A broody will only leave her nest once or twice a day for about a half hour at the longest.
