I have a pullet that recently started laying. About a day earlier she disappeared and came back at night! The next day she hung around until noon, and repeated yesterday. I soon found that she was going into the old pheasnt coops and probably had a nest. I was wondering if this counted as broodyness since she dissapeares for so long! Thanks!
She might be preparing to go broody, but a broody hen only spends about 10-20 minutes off her nest at any one time.
If she does go broody that would be really exciting! I love broody hens.
