Hello
I don’t know for how much time has that been going on for, but at least a month, that Coco, my Polish chicken, hides somewhere far from the flock.

She’s running away from me more often (she used to be very close to me). When I finally found her, I saw her sitting on over 20 eggs of hers in a bush. I was so happy to see her THAT broody!

So what I did is put her in a better place, safe for the night, where she can stay for as long as she wants. There’s food, water, darkness and peacefulness there. I kept her 8 eggs (the most she could actually sit on😂).

She’s been sitting many hours. But when she gets out, she never comes back in: so if I want her to come back there, I’ll have to bring her there and she’ll just sit on them for minimum 2-3 hours usually.

When she gets out, the eggs get cold. Not freezing, but loosing their warmth. Is that okay? What should I do to make her come back there herself, or something??

Also, she pooped yesterday the biggest chicken poop I’ve even seen. Please also tell me if she’s not sick or something. Thank you

I think there is a fair chance she is just hiding from the flock. Her head feathers have been ripped out and are growing back in. Is she the only Polish in your flock?

Before, she wasn’t the only one. But the others died shortly. Right now I have Polish chicks growing so she’ll not be alone anymore soon

But in the meantime, she's "odd man out" and is paying the price for her different looks. I would think about creating a coop/run just for the Polish chickens so they will not be abused by the rest of the flock because of their crests.
