Yesterday I noticed that one of my RIRs (actually production reds) seemed to take an awful long time to lay her egg. When it was time to out the chickies up I had the DH check under her
(i knew we were missing some eggs) sure enough she was sitting on 5 eggs. Well we took them from her and today when I got home she had changed nests and was sitting on 3 more eggs.
I really did not think that any od my reds would go broody.
I guess we will let her sit I have a feeling that she won't sit the whole time, but only time will tell.
Maybe she is pulling an April Fool's joke on me?? It seems to be going around here on BYC today

Yep. Those chickens can pull some pretty mean pranks.

Maybe, just maybe she'll

continue to sit. Mine never want to do 'the work'. They think

they do. But the thought never lasts.
