Broody question

My EE just layed her egg and she is sitting on it after laying it, she does this for a while and then leaves the nest box, is this normal behavior after laying or will she go broody soon?

Normal behavior. I can vouch that when mine do that, it does not mean they are about to go broody.

If they are broody, they will stay on the nest overnight. I don't give any of mine eggs to hatch until they spend two consecutive nights on the nest instead of in their normal roosting spot. Hens can give a lot of false indications of going broody. The behavior you described does not even register on the scale.
