broody sexlink... she won!

One of my big black sexlinks, Pepper, has been trying desperately to sit on eggs the past two months. She's stopped laying now, has plucked her belly bare and refuses to leave the nesting box even if there are NO eggs for her...

I gave in this morning and set a dozen silkie eggs under her.

I guess we'll see what happens in 3 weeks

Send some of those broody vibes my way. My BR that kept trying to set (in the craziest places!) last year has a "hidden" nest that's actually in a spot that I can make predator proof if she decides to go broody so I'm hoping she gets the urge again soon.

My buff orpington went broody yesterday and she is CRAZY!!

My friend just dropped off 6 silkie eggs this afternoon, I already had 11 under Pepper... and then my silkie laid another egg this afternoon...

I guess things may work out?

Pepper has 12 bantam eggs under her, and my BO has 6.

Hmmmm. Curious to see if anything hatches, since my BO absolutely refuses to sit on eggs anywhere else but HER nesting box, the most popular one with the girls
