I'm not sure where you could get them. I don't have a silkie rooster so none of my Silkies eggs are fertile

Ok all 3 of my silkie hens went broody and decided to sit on the same nest of eggs.

Well we had one chick hatch on Feb. 21st. from the first set of 4 eggs(3 were duds)and all 3 of my silkie hens were fine sitting on the same nest. Another set of 4 eggs were set to be ready yesterday March 2nd and they hatched on time.

Today my Splash colored(white/black mixture)Silkie hen went homicidal and attempted to kill the 4 chicks that just hatched yesterday. She killed 2 and 2 survived. I caught her in the act of killing the second one.

I lifted my other 2 silkie hens(Buff and black one)to check the other chicks and the splash colored homicidal began attacking them.

I picked Splash the homicidal up showed her the 2 baby chicks she had just killed and I told her she was going to die because of her actions. I then shot her with my 20 gauge shotgun.

WTF? Is this common? Do hens go homicidal very often?
