Hiya

Well for about 2 weeks now, my silkie is broody, ON NOTHING!
I kick her off SOOO much and nothing
Even their coop has a wire bottom
She is presistent.
WHen my other hen lays, she grabs the egg and sits on it.
GAH
Its driving me insane. Its her 1st time broody...

she needs to be moved to a new cage, the enviroment needs to be changed and she needs to not be able to have acess to a nestbox at all, i have put ice cubes in my hens nests to break them but i wouldnt reccomend that this time of year

They dont use the nest box. SO I removed it Today, maybe it will help with the enviroment change

My daughters Silkie sat for 5 wks. with nothing underneath her so I finally gave the persistent little thing some eggs.

Did you let her hatch?
Hmmm, maybe 3 silkie eggs wont hurt...
Maybe I can but 6 from a friend
