I have a beautiful silver Sussex bantam called Stella , shes 6 months old and has been a good layer. She was hand reared on a farm and was tame and loved me as soon as I brought her home. Always round my feet begging for mealworms and loving cuddles. Following me into the house and jumping on my lap. Now shes gone broody for the first time, being bullied by my other girls. Shes now scared of me and runs away from me! It breaks my heart and I don't know what to do. Please help! ☹

She's learning to be a chicken. She will be better when she isn't broody. You can stop that behavior if you are not going to let her sit and hatch eggs. Read about the "Broody Buster". It is what I have done and it does work. I used a small dog crate with a wire bottom.

Hi thanks for the response. They aren't fertile I only have ladies in my backyard. I'm just so worried because shes scared of me. I've had a black silkie (Sylvie) for nearly 2 years who gets broody regularly but shes not scared and I sort of know her routine and leave her to it.

She's only 6months old, so being like this is new to her. Break her broodiness and see what happens.
Forcing the issue is not going to help anything, wait and see if she comes back around once she's over being broody.
