I have 3 RI REDS and 1 has been in the same nesting spot for 2 days. I've taken 4 eggs from under her, but I haven't seen her move to eat or drink....it's 90+ degrees.
Tonight I placed her in a wire cage with food and water to try and break this. Good idea? Bad idea? I'm new, and was reading all day to solve this. i don't want to to get sick

I've not successfully broken a broody girl, but have had broody hens. Sounds like that's what's going on. She does/ will get up but only infrequently to get a quick drink, food and go right back. You've probably just missed it. Many people say the cage thing works. Make sure not to have any bedding in there. At least that's what I've heard. Good luck.

I put food & water, no hay, or any bedding. Thanks for the reply
