I found them on Craiglist, the guy had a lot of them set up in a box and they look pretty dirty. I felt bad and brought a couple of them home. I gave them both baths and blow dried them. They look better but could use another bath (which I’ll wait to do for a few days or so), until they’re adjusted. I bring my other chickies outside during the day to relax and get some sun, atm I keep them in a brooder in the garage. The silkies seemed to enjoy sun bathing and getting some fresh air. They slept a lot like they haven’t had a chance to relax because how crowded the brooder they came from was. They haven’t ate or drank for a few hours and are just sleeping. Normal adjusting? Any advice? Thank you!

I hope you got them for a good price. I would think giving someone business for poorly treated birds will just encourage them to continue their poor practices.

On the other note, that’s sweet that you had compassion on those poor things. I would think they need some time to adjust. How old are they?

Advice- Make sure that the others chicks do peck at their poor exposed brains.
Also, they cuties. You did great saving them.

True, looks like they just need time to adjust. They’re still resting. I was told they’re
8 week old splash silkies.

Poor babies! So glad they found a home with you! They look exhausted yet relieved, too! R&R, eat, sleep, poop, repeat! With a few days of that process, I'm sure their little personalities will start to shine!

Can’t wait to see their personalities. So far they are really sweet and calm. 😄
