They were born on May 5th. I definitely have one that is a cockerel, but this morning I noticed another has the characteristics of being male. Is it possible that it would take 3 or more months to tell by sight and sound what gender it is?? I'll try to upload a picture soon.

Brown Leghorn roosters and hens are colored differently. In theory then, you should be able to tell the gender based on the bird's coloring by now, but I've never raised any Brown Leghorns from chicks so I don't know for sure at what age the coloring becomes readily apparent.

Leghorn hens are notorious for maturing very quickly, with hens starting to laying very young (15-17 weeks is not uncommon) and getting huge red combs and wattles before beginning to lay. So there is a good chance that your bird is in fact a pullet, who is going to start laying later this month!

A nice clear profile pic would definitely help!

You can tell the difference as soon as they feather in. Black breasts are male, salmon/brown breasts are female. the bird in your avatar is clearly male, a female has totally different coloring from the get go. This is, however, around the age a Leghorn hen can start growing a comb that can make folks uncomfortable about gender.

I agree

Thanks for the replies everyone. This is a pic of "her". And it's most definitely a pullet! I'm guessing she will be the first one of the bunch to lay me an egg.
