Brown Leghorn x Silver Leghorn

I bred a Brown Leghorn rooster with Silver Leghorn hens. I put the eggs in the incubator today. I hope for a good hatch. I’m excited to see how these hybrids turn out.

This is the result. Shown is a male Brown Leghorn x Silver Leghorn hybrid where the father is a Brown Leghorn and the mother is a Silver Leghorn. His sisters are all normal Brown Leghorns since only the males inherited the sex-linked silver gene from their mother. He has brothers as well but he is the best example of all of them to show the mixed traits. The silver gene is expressed around the neck. You see some brown in his wings from his father. He’s turning out to be a very pretty bird.
