Hi Everyone! So I was just out cleaning my chicken yard and I went over to check their feeders and I noticed something moving around. Turns out there was a ton of weevil looking bugs they were brown though. Anyways they were in the feed so I sourced it back to our bucket of feed just to make sure I didn’t have any in it. And when I was looking through it I also noticed a brown a little worm. Is it like a larva or is it like a worm that can turn into an internal parasite? Anyways I am going to throw the food out and get fresh tomorrow but I wanna make sure that was the right thing to do.

What is your location? I have found the common grain weevil in new unopened bags of feed before, from a particular feed store in my area. I stopped getting feed there, since every bag was infested in the summertime. They are not harmful to the chickens if they eat them, but I would be more concerned about the worm. Is it like a maggot larvae? Is there any mold or a bad odor in the feed?
