Bruise like coloration on hatching egg?

I have a few duck eggs that are pipping and Zipping. This one has been discolored since yesterday and now it’s trying to zip. What is going on with the outside of this egg? At day 10 it had several black spots in it but was still moving around so I’m at a loss as to what this is.

The air cell is bigger than that also. I just didn’t touch it anymore after I saw the black spots all inside it.

Well then bruise was actually blood that had pooled around the egg so I guess it ruptured something while hatching, a beautiful Ancona duckling hatched from that egg if anyone runs into the same issue.

Beautiful duckling! I'm sorry that nobody replied to this at the start, but maybe it's a good thing! Someone might have thought that it was dead and told you to toss it. I'm glad that everything worked out!

I was almost sure it had died. At the end the egg turned almost black all the way around but it came out perfectly healthy! Never had a egg do that before.

Wow that's interesting! Weird, but interesting! Well it's nice to know that this can happen for future reference. I'm so glad that he/she's ok, does he/she have a name?

Yes my daughter named it Casper! She’s been giving all my October birds festive names
