I had 2 buckeyes hatch from my first batch....my eldest daughter started to make French toast with about 1/2 of the eggs! these hatched out as yellow chicks with a bit of mottled brown and now have developed the barring on the wings. I have 7 buckeyes hatch from a different breeder, these are much darker...black with yellow or grey with yellow, no bars. I'll try to figure out how to post photo...I don't know how. Ironically both sets of eggs came from breeders, not hatcheries. mary
