My budgies are young, roughly 3 months old. I've had them for a little while, and they haven't bathed yet.

Is it something they will learn? Should I be spraying them?

I've offered water to bathe in, but generally I don't see anyone using it. I usually end up spraying mine. Mine aren't tame, so they don't trust new stuff. I haven't ever seen them using their water dish as a bath either.

I have read they will roll in damp leaves like dandelion but again I had no luck so I just mist mine once in a while.

Thanks for the reply. How often should they be sprayed/misted if they don't bathe on their own?

I do mine every week or two in the winter, and more often in the summer, usually daily because I move their cage outside.

My parakeet NEVER bathed in his water dish he was not a fan. I would just mist him with a spray bottle instead. My finch however bathes constantly, which means have to clean his dishes way more frequently. Just depends on your birds preference ❤

I spray mine with a spray bottle and they usually enjoy it, my budgie loves it the most.

It was raining yesterday and I caught the cockatiels bathing in the rain :)
