I picked up this guy this morning after looking specifically for a Buff Brahma rooster for a bit. I'm told he is around 12 weeks old but I'm wondering if the age is accurate and if he is actually a rooster or if this is really a hen.
He's slightly smaller than the full grown laying hens we have. I'm not familiar with this breed outside of the research I've done online but I know they tend to mature slower because they are a larger breed. He is also missing feathers on his back but he was in a flock with 25 roosters and 75+ hens so he may have been getting picked on or this may be an older hen who is molting. I'm not new to chickens so I feel like I should know the answer but I'm stumped.
