Buff Brahmas-what do I need to know??

I got a Buff Brahma as a mystery chick when I ordered my 10 Barred Rock chicks...its a standard sized one. I have no idea about this breed. What can you tell me about them? ARe the eggs large? I heard they are broody...is this true? Are they more of a tamer breed? Thanks-this will help lots!

My brahmas are good med. to large egg layers, great winter layers as well. Gentle, non-skittish birds.
However, what I've noticed about the "mystery chicks" that hatcheries send is that they are usually cockerels.
On the bright side, if you are going to have a brahma cockerel, the buffs are spectacular looking.

I specifically ordered a Light Brahma Rooster as one of my two flock roos because of their personalities. You can't beat them.. they are the nicest, most docile chickens. And the roosters are large and protective of their flocks.
