Buff Duckling Losing All His Feathers

We have a three week old buff duck. He seems to be losing a ton of his yellow feathers. The peking ducks in the flock haven't been losing theirs.

Are we do something wrong? Or do buff ducks lose there down faster.

When you say he's losing a ton of yellow feathers can you see the other feathers coming in? you could try giving them some poultry vitamins in their water for an extra boost when growing fast and getting in their new feathers.

I think he is molting. My ducks are in a summer molt, and it looks like someone went out and plucked one! Or had a pillow fight or something, kinda funny, but its normal

I thought he could just be molting but I didn't think he's old enough for that. Maybe ducks lose those fluffy yellows way before geese do?

Some ducklings when losing baby fluff can actually look pretty bald. so hopefully thats all it is, I'd still think about some poultry vits. it's good to help them through these times of fast growth. Sure is a cutie.

Oh, didn't realize he was a duckling... LOL.. he sure is cute!!

He's fine! He's getting his new feathers.
All of my buffs did this and my male buff just recently did this.
