I read that buff dondotte guineas mature faster than other colors. based on any experience, is this true. And are there any other different things about them

Never heard that before, and I am not sure why any one would say that... a Helmeted Guinea Fowl is a Helmeted Guinea Fowl, regardless of color, lol (unless it's a French or Jumbo). It's definitely not true in my flocks (BDs included), all colors mature at the same rate, as long as they are fed the same high protein diet. Only difference about the BDs that I know of, and have observed in my own flocks is that the Hens are always darker than the males, so you can easily sex them as early as the day they hatch (if you have both sexes to compare to each other).

buff dundottes, on my wish list for this spring!!

My buff dondottes have never really gotten buff colored, they're basically white, but if you look closely you can see the pearling. Oddly enough, my friend took some dondotte keets from the same order mine came from and his all turned a pretty light buff color. They're from the same batch, raised the same way, and fed the same food. I have 1 male, 1 female, my friend also ended up with both sexes.
