Yeah the cartoon character was not Foghorn Leggern he was Foghorn Leghorn. But I guess if that's how you always heard it pronounced that's how you would think it was pronounced.
My neighbor grew up thinking her forehead was her "fard" because that's how her granny (who raised her) pronounced it.
