Buff Orphington just laid her first egg... And its pink!

My 16 week old buff Orphington just laid her first egg, it was a fairy egg, and it was pink! Is that just a pigment issue? In curious, not concerned.

How do you know it was her? Did it have a yolk?

She is the only one in that pen that looked POL, and she was the only one in there today, for 2 hours in fact. It had a yolk that was about the size of my thumb, and the egg was the size of a grape.

Orpingtons can lay a pinkish egg. The color may change a bit as it was her first egg. Post photos if you get more!

Deffidently will, she is strutting like a queen right now

It was a normal first egg for a 16 week old then, it wasn’t a fairy egg.
And pinkish is normal.

Fairy eggs are usually the size of a golf ball, or even smaller, and they don't have a yolk.
