Hello! I have two buff orpington chicks that are now a month old. Eugenie’s feathers look much different from the rest of my chicks but not the same as her pair Sleepy’s. Can anyone tell me why they look like this?

I had a similar situation with a pair of female Black English Orpingtons. No idea what led to this-it’s similar to the shredder gene seen in lavender birds where it’s like the barbules don’t stick together well. I wouldn’t worry about it at all, just an unusual quirk and probably something that shouldn’t be bred :)

Do you have a picture of the other chick (Sleepy)? Did you source them from the same place?
Yes! I got them both from the local coop in town. The one closer to the front is my other buff orpington
