We had a Buff Orpington rooster who was the best rooster in the world (until something got him). He crowed very infrequently, was considerate of the ladies, and was not aggressive towards us at all. Now we have Buffs from chicks, several of whom are likely to be roosters. But at over 12 weeks old, there is hardly ever (and I mean almost never) any crowing from the potential males and they are all as well behaved as can be. So my question is, is this kind of very reasonable behavior typical of Buff bantam roosters? I mean, we were going to figure out how to get rid of them, but if they're going to be this nice we just might keep them around.
Any thoughts?
